Fermentation

Microbial isolates are grown in nutrient, marine or A1 liquid medium. Culture medium (5 L) is initially shaken at 180 rpm for 5 days at room temperature and the microbial cells are then separated from the liquid broth via vacuum filtration. Both the microbial cells and liquid broth are extracted with ethyl acetate. Organic solvents are removed in vacuo to afford crude extracts.
