Science-Math-Master (SM2) provides professional development to teachers, upgrading their skills in Biology and Geometry and boosting the performance of high school students who must master biology and geometry to succeed in school and beyond. In partnership with the Florida Department of Education, The University of Tampa is developing and delivering classroom sessions and an on-line system for teachers statewide. 

Join us for a One-Day Biology Spring Workshop: 

What’s New? 
 Come hear the latest updates on the Biology EOC and the national Next Generation Science Standards. What will this mean for teachers and students? 
 Which standards do students struggle with? How can we address this? 

Participate! 
 An interactive demonstration of effective tactics and techniques that address the Biology Next Generation Sunshine State Standards 
 Exploration of the human immune system using a ready-to-use model lesson and collaborative learning 

Five locations to choose from: 
Biology Session: 1 PM—4PM 
$100 Stipend Provided for Attending 
(registration limited to one workshop per person)

 What’s new? Updated information on the transition to the Common Core State Stand-ards and the upcoming EOC. 

 Bones, Muscles, & Math! A co-curricular lesson activity design to engage students. 

 How Are We Really Going to Implement CCSS and Do Things Differently? A concrete ex-ample of a conic section activity comparing how we do things now and how we’re going to do them as we transition from NGSSS to CCSS.
