Science Math Master
Science Math Master is a professional development program for high school Biology and Geometry teachers composed of face-to-face collaborative training workshops and on-line science and math resources for teachers, including modules, videos, coursework examples, demonstration ideas and curriculum tools.
Through Science Math Master, we are working to provide a tailored professional development program to science and mathematics educators in the state of Florida. This program targets 32 rural Florida school districts along with the school districts neighboring The University of Tampa: Hillsborough, Manatee, and Pasco. By working directly with high school teachers, we are hoping to improve student performance in science and mathematics as they prepare to enter an increasingly competitive world market. The Science Math Master program offers teacher training workshops focusing on high school Biology and Geometry. Day long workshops were held in Spring 2013 in four locations throughout Florida. Two, week long workshops took place in June 2013 at The University of Tampa campus. Our workshop Schedule for Spring 2014 can be found below. Summer 2014 workshops are scheduled for the weeks of June 16-19 and June 23-26 at The University of Tampa Campus.
